I'm glad that I found some TuneCore coupon codes recently because I can use them now that it's my turn to comfort a friend. This friend of mine just got the most disheartening rejection from a potential client who he thought was finally going to realize his life-long dream of seeing his screenplay become a real movie. He called me on the phone last night to break the bad news, and my own heart broke from hearing his dejected voice (and the audible sniffles that I knew were trying to hold back his tears).
I completely understand where he's coming from. He was so close to fulfilling his dream! He even got a badge at the American Film Market and got dozens of appointments last November! This is such a miserable rejection that more than burst his bubble. To him, this is the symbolic wrecking ball that just about demolished his self-worth.
I almost drove 24 miles to Long Beach last night to give him a hug. He just sounded so broken and I really, really felt for him. Instead, I just listened to him and tried to comfort him as much as I could. That's when the idea of giving him something to cheer him up came to mind. I know he will appreciate it because he loves music and even has a couple of musical instruments at home which he plays when he wants to unwind.
This friend of mine is one of my high school best friends. Among our tight group of friends, the two of us are the ones who really understand each other fully because we're both writers at heart. While I'm more into journalistic writing, he's always been inclined to write teleplays and screenplays. In fact, I was one of the biggest fans of his works back in high school.
I was always the eager one to ask what story he was doing and he often solicited my advice as to whether or not I thought his plot points were any good. I've always believed in his talent, and I knew even way back in high school that he was destined for Hollywood greatness. Okay, maybe I was a little biased... But I still believed, and still believe to this day, that my friend is a gifted scriptwriter.
Like the rest of our high school gang, we've managed to keep in touch and update each other with the happenings in our respective lives. He did so much to cheer me up to keep my mind off that heartrending loss of my dream job as a star reporter in the major newspaper I applied for before. I find it amazing to this day how he knew when to say the right words and crack the right jokes to make me feel better then.
And now I feel it's my turn to reciprocate his consoling thoughtfulness that did so much to help me bounce back and chase my dream anew that time. I'm glad that there are TuneCore promo codes I could use to avail of big discounts on a wide selection of songs and videos I could give my friend to cheer him up.
