Being a leader of a dynamic work team is no piece of cake. Of course, I'm not really complaining because I've got the best team I could ever get. They are all dedicated professionals who would give their one hundred percent in any task they take on. I really couldn't ask for more when it comes to the perfect team a leader could ever get.
But I'm saying that it's not a cinch to lead a team of dynamic professionals because, as their leader, I always have to make sure that they are properly motivated in their work and that I have a keen pulse on how they feel about my leadership and if I'm really effective in encouraging them to be the best that they could be.
I've been thinking of different ways to motivate my work team. I regularly give them pep talks and invite them out for fun activities outside the work place to further strengthen our bond as a group. I always ask for their opinions on how we could perform better as a team, if such is possible since I think we're already performing at our optimum best. Nonetheless, they give valuable insights and I'm more than happy to listen to what they have to say. They make me more aware of our work process and point out key areas for improvement, of which I'm really very grateful because they have no qualms about speaking up and letting their leader know about pertinent things that merit attention.
My dynamic team gives me a better perspective of my role as a leader and they trust my capacity as a leader as much as I trust their capabilities as professionals. We truly have a healthy open relationship that is conducive to highly motivated work. This is why I really want to keep it up, to maintain this healthy kind of motivation and high spirit among my team members.
As in any kind of work, we do encounter disappointments. There are projects that are fated to not meet our expectations no matter how hard we work to make things work as perfectly as we could. It is in such cases that my team's morale takes a dip, and it is during these times that I feel that I really need to stand up as their leader, to motivate them and boost their morale.
