Laura and Bernard Ashley started printing fabric on their kitchen table in London in 1953, following a Women’s Institute exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum on traditional handicrafts. Laura was inspired to make her own patchwork quilts, but couldn’t find any suitable fabrics in the shops, so the young enterprising couple decided to try producing their own.

Payment Policy:

How can I pay? We accept all major credit and debit cards. Payment is made at the Internet check out, which can be accessed through your Internet shopping bag icon. Remember, you can still change your mind at the checkout as to whether you wish to continue with the purchase. When do I give my payment details? Payment is made at the Review Your Order page, which can be accessed through your Internet shopping bag icon. You can still change your mind at this stage. Payment is only made when you click to Place your Order purchase. When will I be charged? The full purchase price will be charged to your card upon placement of your order. Important Information on your Order Your order becomes binding as soon as we have accepted it. All orders are subject to availability. Upholstery will be made specifically to your order; in accordance with the instructions and specifications you have given us. You are responsible for checking and confirming that you are satisfied that all the details and aspects of your order are correct and suitable for your requirements , including measurements, dimensions, product features, access and delivery. We reserve the right to refuse to supply any individual or company.

Shipping Policy:

Laura Ashley only delivers to the following UK territories: Mainland UK, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands (please note that we do not deliver Furniture to the Channel Islands). The delivery charges set out below apply to Mainland UK only: * If you order products for delivery we can only deliver to a Mainland UK address. * If you require delivery outside Mainland UK please contact Customer Services. for further details. Please note that all callers from outside the Mainland UK should dial +44 1686 620 399 for Customer Services. Standard Parcel Delivery There is a minimum £4.50 delivery charge for delivery to addresses within Mainland UK. We usually delivery Standard Home Furnishings that are in stock, within seven working days of accepting your order. Next day delivery is available by Mail Order from £9 if ordered before 1pm, Monday to Thursday. Standard Home Furnishings and Made-to-Measure Products will be delivered separately to other furniture orders. Standard Home Delivery Delivery to addresses in the UK territories, selected mirrors (as stated), Furniture and Upholstery orders of £1000 and over,after discount, are delivered free; under £1000 after discount, the delivery charge is £25. Additional charges may apply in certain circumstances. An additional delivery charge is payable for deliveries above first floor, deliveries requiring more than two delivery crew or a small van for access and other exceptional circumstances. The additional delivery charge will range from £60 to £130 depending on the circumstances. Our staff will advise you of the additional delivery charge applicable at the time you place your order or as soon as possible thereafter. For prices and availability please contact Customer Services. In general Deliveries requiring special arrangements can sometimes be made but will be at an additional cost to you. Please be sure that Furniture and Upholstery products you have ordered will fit into the room intended, via all required access routes and that our large delivery lorry can safely reach the delivery address, as fees for redelivery and cancellation will apply. Important Delivery Information When you order, we will give you an approximate week that our carrier will contact you to arrange delivery. Depending on the Products ordered, the item with the longest time to completion will determine your estimate delivery week. Please note that we will charge you a non-refundable storage fee of £100 per full week in the following circumstances : * Where we have been unable to make a delivery booking with you 3 weeks after the original due date of the furniture or first booking attempt by Customer Services (whichever is the later) Customer Services whichever is the later. * Where bookings have been made: if you are unavailable to take delivery of your furniture order on two occasions after agreeing delivery dates with Customer Services. In these instances, re-delivery charges may also apply. Delivery Times Delivery dates and weeks are not guaranteed but we will do our utmost to ensure goods are delivered within the stated date or soon afterwards. We shall not be responsible for delays or failures in delivery caused by a failure to gain access to the delivery address on the agreed delivery date or because of other circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Specific delivery times and days cannot be agreed at any time in the order process. Delivery of Upholstery and Furniture. The delivery crew will not attempt delivery if there are health and safety issues or where damage to your property may occur nor will they remove doors and windows. If no one is available to accept delivery, goods will not fit in your home, or there is no lorry access we will charge you £50 per single item re-delivered and £75 total for more than one item re-delivered at the same time. Where the item/s ordered will not fit into your home, in addition to any cancellation fee incurred, we will charge you a non-refundable removal fee of £50 per single item and £75 total for more than one item. Risk of Damage in Transit and Property We carry the risk of loss or damage to the Products until you receive them. The Products belong to you when you have received them and have paid us in full. Until payment has been made in full we may ask you to return the Products to us at any time. If you return the Products to us for any reason, they will become our property and be at our risk from the time we receive them. See Laura Ashley for more information.

Return Policy:

If you need to cancel or amend a product order it is important to contact us immediately. When you are returning Products, you should return them to us by one of the methods set out below, with proof of purchase (receipt or dispatch notes), unopened, unused and in their original packaging within 28 days of receipt of delivery; unless they are faulty. Products will remain your responsibility until we receive them. When we receive the products we will refund you any payment that you have made using your origional payment method where appropriate. Standard Home Furnishings and Take Home Products In Store: Products can be returned in person to any of our home stores. Upholstery and Furniture cannot be returned direct to our stores. Garment stores will only accept garments and home furnishings stores will only accept home furnishings. If products have been assigned or despatched when you contact us, you may return them within 7 days of receipt of delivery by one of the methods below: By Post/Online: Products can be returned by using the prepaid label enclosed with your order by post to: Returns Department, Laura Ashley By Post, PO Box 19 Newtown, Powys, SY16 1DZ. Self-Assembly Products must be returned unused and in their original packaging and cannot be returned once assembled or part assembled unless confirmed as defective. If you return Products by post, please ensure you package and label them properly so that they are not lost or damaged in transit. We recommend you retain some proof of postage in the event that the Products go missing, as Products remain your responsibility and property until we receive them. For hygiene reasons pillows and duvets cannot be returned once the protective seal has been opened, unless defective. Fabric of less than 5 metres cannot be returned or cancelled once cut, unless defective. Upholstery, Furniture, Self Assembly and Made-to-Measure Products If you need to amend or cancel your Upholstery or Furniture order you may only do so up to 48 hours after you have placed your order by contacting us on 0871 983 5999. After 48hrs, we reserve the right to charge you any costs we incur in relation to your cancelled order. This shall not exceed 25% of the value of the Products cancelled. These products cannot be returned after you have received them, unless they have been inspected or confirmed by a representative of Laura Ashley as defective. Furniture and Upholstery cannot be returned direct to our stores, for further details please contact Customer Services on 0871 983 5999. Items purchased exclusively via ‘Distance Communication’ may be returned by informing us within 7 Days commencing from the day after receipt of the Products that you wish to return them. If the furniture has already been despatched or delivered it must be kept in perfect condition, be collected by our nominated carrier and will be subject to a non-refundable collection fee of £50 per single item collected and £75 for more than one item collected at the same time. For hygiene reasons, Mattresses cannot be returned once opened unless confirmed by a representative of Laura Ashley as defective. Defective Products If you believe any of our Products to be of an unsatisfactory quality please immediately contact Customer Services and treat your Product with the utmost care. For Furniture and Upholstery products we reserve the right to inspect and remedy any issues highlighted where appropriate on site. Nothing mentioned in these terms and conditions affects your statutory rights. Please note that items cannot be returned directly to stores and are only accepted by post. When we receive the products by post, please ensure you package and label them correctly so that they are not lost or damaged in transit.
