Jackson & Perkins was founded in 1872, when Charles Perkins, with the financial backing of his father-in-law, A.E. Jackson, started up a modest enterprise wholesaling strawberries and grape plants from a farm in Newark, N.Y. He also sold directly to local customers who stopped by the farm.

In those early days, when you bought a garden plant from Jackson & Perkins, chances were you would make your purchase directly from Charlie Perkins himself. He would always say, "If it doesn't grow for you, let me know." When a customer had problems with a plant, Perkins would provide either a replacement or a refund. We Ship at the Best Time for Planting Our expert horticultural staff determines proper planting time in each region of the country, and we ship accordingly. When shipment is immediate, allow up to two weeks after we received your order for delivery (most locations). Delivery & Processing charges are based on regular price of merchandise. Standard Delivery and Processing charges are intended to compensate our company for costs incurred to process, prepare, and transport your order and to cover related customer service. Our custom containers have been extensively tested to ensure your merchandise arrives just as perfect as you see it on our website. Nobody delivers like we do. There is no standard delivery charge for Gift Cards and Greeting Cards. Express charges may apply to Gift Cards. 3 Day Express (3 business days guaranteed) Adds $9.95 per item to the standard delivery charge. 2 Day Express (2 business days guaranteed) Adds $11.95 per item to the standard delivery charge. Overnight Delivery (Available to most zip codes) Adds $14.95 per item to the standard delivery charge. Priority Overnight Delivery (Available to most zip codes, Saturday arrival to select areas) Adds $19.95 per item to the standard delivery charge. Garden Fresh Express� Service All live plants and evergreens are shipped via 2-3 Day Delivery directly from our grower. Alaska and Hawaii Deliveries To ensure that your order arrives in perfect condition, we recommend shipping to a street address, not a P.O. Box. Shipments to Alaska and Hawaii are sent via Express Delivery only. For Alaska and Hawaii shipments, please add $5.95 per item to the Standard Shipping & Handling charge, and allow one additional day for delivery. Although we are able to offer shipping to AK and HI we are unable to ship where horticultural restrictions apply. Potted plants to HI are still excluded. For Canadian and Foreign Deliveries We are not able to ship to Canadian, International or APO / FPO addresses. Heavy & Oversized Products Some products require an additional handling charge. You'll find it noted in the product description when shopping on our Website. Please note some heavy or oversized items are not available for Express or Overnight shipping.
