I helped a friend look for some iTunes coupon codes which he can use once he gets his new iPod unit. In a way, I'm using the iTunes coupons to console him and make him feel better about the savings he will get to enjoy when he starts downloading music for his new iPod.
You see, this friend of mine is still feeling miserable and still hates himself for absentmindedly throwing away his precious iPod along with a bunch of trash he bundled from his room and disposed off in a garbage bag. He was so angry with himself when he told me what he had done. It was too late for him to retrieve his iPod when he realized that he had included it in the items he threw away. The garbage had already been collected and the garbage truck was gone before he could make a run for it.
He's been hating himself for days for his stupidity and I can feel his remorse at the thought of buying a new iPod and downloading all the song collections he was always proud of in his previous unit. Some people might say that he is over-reacting with all his self-hatred for accidentally throwing away his iPod, but I know where he is coming from. I know how attached he is to his iPod because it's something I rarely see him without. His iPod is his most favorite gadget, even much more than his cell phone. He can live a day without his cell phone, which he sometimes leaves at home anyway, but he cannot even survive half a day without his music.
Saying that my friend is a music lover would be an understatement. He breathes music. It is what keeps him sane, as I very well know. He has his ears plugged with his iPod headset most of the time, and he only takes them off when he's talking to someone. I used to find it intriguing because he's not one whom I would call musically gifted. He doesn't sing and doesn't know how to play any musical instrument, but listening to music just gives him a different kind of pleasurable high, or I guess it has a soothing effect on his mind that enables him to stay awake and function well in his everyday life.
Anyway, I really want to make him feel better and hopefully stop him from hating himself for what he had done with his favorite iPod. I can't think of no better way to do so than by assuring him that he can get all his favorite music again for an affordable price using the iTunes coupons. In fact, he can use the same iTunes coupon codes to buy a new iPod unit at a notably lesser price.
I'm sure he will enjoy the great promo deals offered by the iTunes discount codes, and I think it will be an effective way of cheering him up and keeping his mind off his self-hatred. In time, when he already has a new iPod and has downloaded all his favorite music again using the iTunes promo codes, he will just look back at this time and laugh at himself for his stupidity. It will just serve as a lesson for him to check what he puts in the garbage bag before he actually throws everything away. That way, he won't have to go through the same remorse of losing something so important out of neglect.
