I have so much to do but so little time left. I feel like I need to master the art of cooking authentic Mexican food in a few days and at the same time complete all the home furnishings needed to make our house look welcoming and cozy to our would-be guests.
Our much anticipated get together with my closest college buddies will be next week and I had agreed to have it held in our home. I felt rather flattered two months ago when one of our friends asked if we could have the reunion dinner at our house. I immediately agreed then, quite enthusiastically, because I suddenly wanted to show them our newly renovated house.
I had thought that our home would be a perfect venue for my friends to catch up on each other's lives in the most comfortable way. But now that the big day is just a week away, I'm starting to wish that the reunion was being held elsewhere. It's not that I'm not welcoming my friends at my home. I'd love to have them come. It's only the stress and pressure of getting everything in order that's getting to me.
My husband has been reassuring me that our home is as perfect as it can be and that I shouldn't fret too much. He keeps telling me that my friends would all love what I've done with the living room, the dining room and the kitchen as well. He says that our home hasn't really looked this good in ages. Sure, we got the renovations done early last year, but it's only now that we completed our new set of furniture.
What adds to my stress is the theme my friends chose for our reunion. They had decided to give it a Mexican theme, so all the food that will be served should be Mexican. Sure, some of them are bringing some of their own homemade Mexican dishes, but I still need to prepare some of my own since I'm the host of this reunion dinner.
I don't have the luxury of time to do the actual shopping for cooking ingredients because I'm still busy with the final touches of beautifying our home, so I resorted to surfing the Internet for whatever I can find helpful in my quest to whip up a decent Mexican-inspired dinner.
Good thing I found some MexGrocer.com coupon codes that offer the best deals on almost everything that's needed to prepare authentic Mexican dishes.
